Huanshi Road Middle, GZTV occupies an area of 12000 square meters. GZTV began its broadcasting on Channel 34 on 10th January 1988, followed by Channel 16 in 1992 and cable broadcasting in 1994. Channel 34 now has a transmission power of 30,000 kilowatts and broadcasts 18 hours daily with 9.2 hours of self made programs. The director of GZTV is Li Jinyuan. GZTV covers Guangzhou, the Pearl River Delta and some parts of Guangdong Province with an audience of more than 30 million people. Characterised with its efficient news and Lingnan featured serials and comprehensive programs, GZTV is very popular in Pearl River Delta. Its audience rating and commercial incomes lead among other local medias. In 2002,GZTV had an ads income of over 400 million RMB. The cable TV system of GZTV is FDDI which covers the Guangzhou area and transmits 39 TV programs from CCTV, local channels and satellites to more than 1.13 million audience in Guangzhou including the new districts of Huadu and Panyu£¬Conghua , Zengcheng and the other areas of the Pearl River Delta . Cable GZTV also has 6 self-instructed channels. They are film, economy, life, news, sports and shopping channels.
