Association Of Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries is a social
organization meant to develop cultural exchanges and cooperation
between Guangzhou and the outside world. Its main duty is to make
Guangzhou known by the outside world as well as to introduce the
outside world to Guangzhou. It not only cultivates cultural and
artistic communications, but also helps to promote exchanges and
cooperation among different groups, organizations and agencies between
Guangzhou and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries as
well in terms of scientific research, press publishing, culture
and art, radio and TV, education and professional training, etc.
Help to enhance the cultural construction of Guangzhou with the
bid to build it into one of the international cultural communication
centers. Using culture as a bridge to strengthen the friendship
between the people of `Guangzhou and the people of all the countries
throughout the world. Help Guangzhou to establish a favorable international
image, thus to accelerate GuangzhouӮs opening up and modernization. The Association is composed of both organizations and individual members including departments, institutions, organizations and enterprises involving in Scientific Research, Literature and Art, Press Publishing, Radio & TV, Education &Training, Sports & Sanitation, Culture & Entertainment and Tourism; foreign companies, joint-ventures or cooperative enterprises that are bound up in cultural activities; Publicity Offices of Foreign Trade and Economic Bureau, Foreign Affairs Department, Overseas Chinese Affairs Department; and the news office of every district and city at county-level. The Association has a council and secretariat. |
