ASSOCIATION OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL FILMS AND TELEVISION PROGRAMS

| As a national mass organization
engaged in researches and promotion of the development of science
and educational films and television , the Chinese Association of
Science and Educational Films and Television Programs was founded
in 1986. The association has under It a General Office, an Academic Committee, a Training Committee, a Cooperation Committee and an Organizational Committee. The aim and task of the association is to rally television and film science workers in the country, improve their professional and academic levels as well as the increase the level of the creation, production and distribution of science and educational films and television programs. The main work of the association is to organize academic exchange in science and educational films and television productions, conduct discussions and theoretical investigations and provide consultations for the public. The association also organize prize-awarding activities for excellent film and television productions and excellent workers while making publicity to the public so as to promote the development of science and educational films and television undertakings, running professional training programs of various forms to help members improve their theoretical and vocational levels as well as enhancing the association between members and their understanding of the public. The association maintains close contact with science and educational film studios at the national level and television stations across the country. Beijing in 1993, it became responsible for the evaluation of the Government Prize for science and technological television programs. In August, 1987, the association joined the International Association for Media in Science. |
