Lecturers from six countries submitted seminar
topics for the festival. One of the topics arousing the most interest
is the production and screening of documentary films from various
angles.
Chinese documentary film producers and media programmers are all
very interested in the relationship between production and screening.
The audience ratings of documentary films on Chinese television
are unsatisfactory. Documentary films are often viewed as service
products for a limited number of people within the Chinese television
market.
In recent years there have been few television stations that have
established documentary channels or programs. However, audience
ratings are low and the operators are constantly seeking ways and
solutions to increase audience ratings.
As a result, Chinese documentary film operators may be enlightened
and inspired by the discussions during the seminar and be able to
adjust their direction in moving forward.
