GZDOC 2007 Newsletter

Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival (GZDOC) 2007 will run from December 3rd to 7th, 2007 in Guangzhou. GZDOC 2007 Office opens and registration starts at 12:00 Sunday, Dec.2nd. (Venue: Holiday Inn City Center, address: 28 Guangming Road, Overseas Chinese Village, Huanshi Dong, Guangzhou.)

GZDOC 2007 Schedule


International Producer Day
International Producer Day is hosted by Mr. Pat Ferns on Tuesday, Dec.4th. Each producer will give a brief presentation including DVD clip, followed by Q&A section. The time slot will be 09:00-13:00 in the morning and 15:00-18:30 in the afternoon. Simultaneous interpretation between English and Chinese will be provided by our Festival. Participants include all Chinese producers and broadcasters attending our festival. Chinese producers are looking forward to this activity. We insist that all clips should be in DVD. No Power Point will be supported.

International producers interested in attending GZDOC 2007
We have 56 producers from 21 countries applied for GZDOC 2007, including:

Documart
We have around 70 projects from 6 countries applied for our pitching program. Projects with Most Marketing Potential and Pitching training are scheduled on Monday, Dec.3rd, while Documart GZDOC 2007, on Wednesday, Dec.5th. One-on-One meeting between international buyers and Chinese producers will be on Thursday morning, Dec.6th. Simultaneous interpretation between English and Chinese will be provided by our Festival.

Results of selected projects to Projects with Most Marketing Potential will be published on Oct.28th. We insist that all clips should be in DVD. No Power Point will be supported. We will invite international producers to attend the Projects with Most Marketing Potential on Dec.3rd.It will be a fantastic chance for international producers to meet Chinese producers and find their partner.

Screening at GZDOC 2007
We have received 181 entries from 33 countries applied for Screening GZDOC 2007. Entries are made by: China (33 entries), Australia-China co-production (2 entries), Denmark- Arabia co-production, France, France-Lebanon co-production, U.S.A, Thailand-Germany co-production, Israel-Germany co-production, Netherlands, Russia, England, Chile-Germany co-production, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Canada, Poland, Italy, Australia, Iraq-Australia co-production, Norway, South Korea, Portugal, India, Hungary.

All films to be screened at GZDOC 2007 will be subtitled in both Chinese and English. For Screening schedule as well as more updated information of GZDOC 2007, please visit our website www.gzdoc.com.

Screening News:
Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival (GZDOC) presents ¡°Video Salon 2007-Screening in Sapphire Art Space¡± from Oct.14th to Nov.25th, 2007 in Guangzhou. We screen some of the very best domestic and international documentaries every Sunday afternoon, sometimes including an in-depth interview with documentary directors.

Screening NewsWe invited Mr. Zhang Yiqing, a Documentary Director, Senior Journalist of Hubei TV Station and Member of China Academic Committee on Television Documentary, to our premiere screening of Video Salon 2007 on Oct.14th.. His works ¡°Kindergarten ¡± and ¡°Zhouzhou¡¯s world¡± were screened, followed by an interview, where around 100 audiences and press reporters shared their view with our director.
